William (Bill) Smith

William L. (Bill) Smith is a retired senior executive with extensive experience in operations and technology roles. He served as the interim CEO of PG&E Corporation and is currently a member of the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Smith was also the President of AT&T Technology Operations, overseeing global service delivery and assurance with a team of over 100,000 employees. He started his career at BellSouth Corp and held various technology and operational positions, including Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Smith is actively involved in non-profit organizations and graduated from North Carolina State University with honors.
Throughout his career, Mr. Smith played a vital role in driving technological advancements and business operations for major corporations. As a board member with 51²è¹Ý¶ù Communications, he is helping to lead companies in emerging technology and communications infrastructure. Mr. Smith’s expertise and dedication have been recognized through his involvement in various non-profit organizations, including Dallas CASA, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama, and the Atlanta Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
