My research aims to highlight the importance of a psychosocial decolonial perspective to development, exploring the interplay of the body and the mind in development interventions.

My research interests include urban marginality, urban governance, housing and labour market inequalities, group stigmatisation, Gypsy-Travellers and Roma, and the sociology of Norbert Elias.

Dr Ramos Villar's interest in Portuguese American life writing comes from a desire to give value to how working class, ordinary lives, write or speak about their lives.

My research focuses on migration histories and the experiential qualities of place. This includes how landscape architecture responds to contexts of superdiveristy and plurality of values.
