Dr Hongmei Sun has been shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Awards, celebrating excellent work across Higher Education.
Dr Sun made the list for Most Innovative Teacher of the Year for her work transforming supply chain learning using hands-on AI, VR, and digital tech. Dr Sun said:
"I am very honoured to be shortlisted for the Most Innovative Teacher of the Year in the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards 2026. This national-level recognition is a wonderful acknowledgement of my teaching practice, particularly my use of technology-enhanced activities, experiential learning, and work-related learning to support student engagement, digital skills, and employability.
"I am deeply grateful to Sheffield University Management School, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the wider University for the support, resources, and encouragement that have made this possible. I would also like to thank the colleagues who have supported different teaching activities, and my students for their enthusiasm, participation, and feedback.
"For me, this recognition reflects not only my individual teaching practice, but also the school’s, faculty’s, and wider University’s commitment to student-centred learning. I will continue improving my teaching practice to support student success."
The final of the THE Awards will take place on 26 November.
